  • Huma (2025)
I am originally from Telangana, India and currently live in Arizona. My career is driven by a passion for contributing to the global scientific community by developing high-impact R&D solutions that strengthen crop resilience and ensure food security. By linking association mapping to advanced physiology and phenotyping, I have dedicated my research to identifying the molecular drivers that allow crops to survive and thrive under abiotic stress. I am now applying this integrated expertise at Huma to unravel the ‘black box’ of humic chemistry. My current work uses live-cell fluorescence microscopy to identify proximal signaling events initiated by Humic Substances in plants. Furthermore, I investigate how the redox-active chemistry of humics—specifically, the balance between pro-oxidant quinones and antioxidant phenols—serves as a molecular signal to trigger beneficial “eustress” in plants. Outside of research, I find my balance in nature. I enjoy hiking and exploring the outdoors. I remain deeply connected to my family back home in India, their support is my strongest foundation.
