Huma® X-Tend® Increases Corn Yield With 5:1 ROI
Background X-Tend® mixed with other fertilizers applied to specific crops has enhanced results with improved plant growth and higher yields. Combining X-Tend® with grower standard products applied to soil and when applied as a single product foliar application could also impact results. Objective The focus of this study was to observe if X-Tend® as a
Huma® Liquid Sili-Max® Improves Wheat Yield at Much Higher Efficiency Than Conventional Dry Silicon Fertilizers
Objective The objective of this study was to compare, for use in Louisiana wheat production, the efficacy of a liquid silicon (Si) fertilizer (Huma® Sili-Max®) with a commonly used dry Si source (steel slag) and another Si source (wollastonite) often used in research as a suspension. Silica deposition is an important barrier for foliar fungal
Super Phos® Multi-State Midwest Trial
Background Application of phosphorus (P) fertilizers—such as triple super phosphate (TSP), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), diammonium phosphate (DAP), liquid ammonium polyphosphate (APP), and other forms—can be inefficient and, at times, not environmentally friendly. A technology that can mitigate these P fertilizer challenges without compromising yield and return on investment is highly desirable. Huma® Super Phos® is

How Dry Conditions Drive #Plant25 Decisions
There’s an old saying in farming: “Plant in dust, your bins will bust”. The premise is that dry soils will encourage faster, deeper root growth early in the season, which will lead to more robust root systems and stronger plants throughout the growing season. Conversely, crops planted in ideal moisture conditions may become lazy and their roots remain shallow, causing potential problems later in the season when summer heat and dry conditions often arise. If that old adage is true, then Midwest farmers would be looking at a bumper crop in 2025. Then again, there’s dry, then there’s very dry.

We all do it. We track time by referencing memorable items that we or our family once possessed. “Back when he drove that blue Silverado”, or “when she had that yellow Labrador” are examples of how we recall events that shaped our lives. For farmers, those points in time are often defined by a tractor.
